Who We Support

Supporting people experiencing housing insecurity and crisis

Safer Homes works with individuals across the West Midlands who are facing homelessness, displacement, or instability, providing safe accommodation and ongoing stabilisation support through referral partners.

Who we work with

We support people who are experiencing significant housing challenges and need safe, stable accommodation alongside appropriate support.

We work closely with referral partners to ensure placements are safe, suitable, and responsive to individual needs.

Homelessness or risk of homelessness

Domestic abuse and unsafe living situations

Displacement or forced relocation

Leaving care or unsupported transitions into adulthood

Mental health challenges linked to housing instability

Breakdown of previous housing arrangements

Each referral is considered individually, with a focus on safety, stability, and suitability.

What we consider when assessing referrals

To ensure the best outcomes, we work with referrers to understand:

  • Current housing situation and level of risk
  • Support needs and complexity
  • Suitability for shared or independent accommodation
  • Engagement with existing services
  • Any safeguarding considerations

We aim to match individuals to the most appropriate placement and support package available.

A collaborative approach

Safer Homes does not operate in isolation. We work alongside:

Local authorities

Housing teams

Charities and support organisations

Specialist services

Our goal is to create stable, joined-up pathways that reduce pressure on frontline services while improving outcomes for individuals.

Please note
We are not an emergency crisis service.

All placements are made through referral and assessment to ensure suitability and safety for everyone involved.
